Uncovering the Roots

My name is Angelique T. Gayle. It has been years since I have focused on writing. The creativity just has not been there, or maybe it was and I suppressed it, or worse, ignored it. Throughout my short lifetime, I have come to realize that no matter how far I stray away from writing, everything I do leads me back to it. Whether I'm traveling, planning, reading, or simply being. When I wake up in the morning, I think about writing. When I go to bed, I'm thinking about what I will write. I think; therefore I am, right? So, I am a writer.

That was actually my first time ever declaring it. And it's probably because I am intensely aware that writing is labor intensive; it takes discipline and dedication. But I think now, I am ready to do the work. I am ready to dedicate my time and my life to this. I know that where I currently am in my life, I must create--no matter the impact, no matter the circumstance, feedback, or non-feedback. I just have to do it.

This time around, I am bringing my whole self; my personality, sense of humor (sometimes), and most importantly, bravery...with no idea, or care of the outcome. The journey will be documented.
